Tools to evoke change series
A series of objects where I have combined found and recycled objects to create a series of sculptures which resemble possible tools. They have titles which allude to function, but with an impossibility to achieve, a way of addressing our common anxieties as humans living in this uncertain world of ours. First shown at SSA Open exhibition in 2019, where it won the Edinburgh Printmakers Award.
I choose this due to the inventiveness and variety of the individual ‘tools’. Alongside the wit, Jenny’s creative imagination is awesome. I appreciate the inherent reference to the environment and her use of found materials, so cunningly recycled. The Tool collection altogether makes for a satisfying visual experience, while each individual piece is thought provoking and entertaining.
