Organic Ceramic Classes
There is still time to book on one of the evening classes starting on 30 and 31st January. I am busy getting ready, sorting out clays and glazes, finding new reading material, inspiring images and ideas, and will have the kettle on ready at 630pm sharp! Do contact me if you want to know more.
Concrete Work
The concrete pieces I put in the garden are faring well in the frost and cold weather. There are a number of plants doing suprising things, like an artichoke starting to form. The picture above was taken last week!
I had a really inspiring talk and look around the Research Department at Edinburgh University School of Architecture, where Professor Remo Pedreshi showed me the fabric formed concrete work they are experimenting with. I am now keen to try out some models for myself and then move onto larger ones.
I am planning some more big pieces for this year, more information to follow once details firmed up.
New Job
I will be starting shortly in a new part-time post, 2 days a week, with Health in Mind, an Edinburgh based mental health organisation. I will be one of the trainers in the Collaborate to Educate team, delivering a range of recovery focussed and other mental health and wellbeing courses. I will be in the studio the other days.
