TIDE | Dialogues of Change | 12 Artists 12 Questions

I am very excited to be part of a new exhibition this summer in Dunbar, as one of twelve Scottish artists that have been selected for the John Muir Open to offer an opportunity to develop our personal environmental practice in a joint exhibition.

TIDE: DIALOGUES OF CHANGE | Exhibition

The organisers North Light Arts say –

“TIDE  aims to continue an already growing dialogue around our relationship with nature, how we live and our impact on the environment; encouraging artists to explore, in contemporary ways, the philosophies of John Muir.

A panel including Matthew Dalziel of Dalziel+Scullion selected the artists from a large submission, demonstrating the need to offer an environmental context for the work to be seen and discussed. It was agreed by all that Jenny Pope would win the bursary and make site specific work for the exhibition. We will open with a medicinal walk and a dance collaboration on Saturday 25 May till 23th June. Jenny and Natalie Taylor will lead a public conversation on 28 May and on 20 June Julia Barton of LittoralArt will take plastics with marine specialists and Surfers Against Sewage.”
